Niche Market Basics
It is important to keep in mind that if you decide to pursue niche markets, you will have to put in the time to research possible markets to determine which ones will yield the most profits. No two markets are the same, so your potential income will vary.
In simple terms, a niche market is a small group of consumers who are interested in hobbies, sports, games, music, and other pastimes that may or may not be considered mainstream.
A good example is a hobby such as gardening. While there are many people who garden, there are those who are more interested in certain types of flowers or vegetable gardening.
When searching for a niche market within the gardening community, you will have to conduct research and find out more about gardening and types of gardening to see if there are any areas that are not catered to online, but are sought after by a group that is large enough to be profitable.
A good niche market contains the following attributes:
- It has enough people who are willing to spend money to get the information they need
- Its not overrun by too many other businesses trying to cater to the group at the same time
- The Market Group contains enough people who will sign up for additional information about your servicesz
- Its trendy, but not too trendy, (A trendy niche market will be around for at least six months)

While a niche market doesn’t have to contain all of these attributes for you to be successful in selling a product appropriate for that group, it should be a group that is hungry for information, but is not finding this information in too many places online.
